Church Ministries

Mid-Week Bible Study / Prayer Time
We meet in the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday evenings and we have begin it with a time of fellowship by eating supper as a family. This was started because there were those that stated they did not come due to getting in late and wanting to eat dinner, so we have started serving dinner at 6:30pm. Come out and break some bread, fellowship, and then stick around as we journey through the bible and learn and share with each other.

Team Kids
This program is a 2 hour event on Sunday beginning at 5pm and ending at 7pm. During this time, we will have Bible Study time, lessons, crafts, games, music, counsel times, and other activities for the kids. This program is a Southern Baptist program that is geared toward the smaller Baptist churches. If you are needing any other information, please contact the church and speak with our Children's Ministry Director, Debrah Davis.

Children in Action (CIA)
Meets every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm (during adult prayer meeting) and is a wonderful release of activities for kids! All kids are invited to come and learn while having fun!

Young Adults
Currently, meeting in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings at 9:45. We are studying different series that deal with any one of life's obstacles and we relate it to what the bible says concerning this issue. We are working through each session and are not rushing through -- input from all is what keeps this series alive.

Youth Group
Our youth group is growing and learning at the same time. Under the direction of our Youth Director, Bro. Chris Davis, this group is becoming better prepared to cope with things around them and also able to speak with others concerning their beliefs and convictions! They have also begun a youth choir that meets on Sunday evenings at 4pm! Come out and see what's new!!

Discipleship Training
These are classes designed to instruct our members on what and how the bible says about our lifestyle, our worship, our responsibilities toward God and the church. We have several classes available. There are couple classes, men and women classes. Come find a class and see where you want to fit in!

Choir
As David sang praises to the Lord, so shall we! Our choir meets on Sundays at 7:00 pm for rehearsal and all are invited to come and make a joyful news onto the Lord!

Praise Group
We currently have a keyboardist, bass player, drummer, and guitarist who help lead our worship service. We are praying that we will see this move forward into a praise group that will help in the area of praise and worship music for our church. If you would like to inquire into this area, perhaps you sing, play an instrument or love working with sound, then let us know and we will put your God given talents to work.

WMU
This is a ministry geared towards the ladies. Through this ministry, the ladies get to intermingle, study and become more acquainted with each other. One aspect of this ministry is the "Secret Sisters". This is where each lady that is part of this, draws a name and for the next 6 months, that is your secret friend that you give cards, words of encouragement and other things without revealing yourself to them. Make your plans to be part of what God is doing in our WMU program!

Brotherhood
Meets the 2nd Sat of every month beginning at 8:00 am to have breakfast, fellowship and take care of projects throughout the church. This only takes place during the Spring, summer and early Fall months. We also flip it to having a movie night and fun and fellowship. At Open Acres, this breakfast is aimed at the whole family, so bring everyone and come enjoy this great time of fellowship!! Check our calendar for any mention or scheduling of events.

Manna from Heaven
This ministry is united with 5 other churches in our local area who rotate the responsibility of feeding those shut-ins that are located in and around our area. Every week these 5 churches prepare home cooked meals and deliver these to shut-ins, and each week a different church is the meal provider. This ministry means a lot not only to those receiving the meal, but those that prepare. They are following the words of our Lord, "when you have done this to the least of these, you have done unto me!" Drama Group
Currently the pastor is looking to begin a drama group that will be doing plays, skits and other things to enhance worship services, get together and other functions. If you are interested, just contact the church and leave a message if no one answers.
